Restaurant & Retail Operating Systems

POS, security cameras, digital menu boards, gate systems and structured cabling, installed and supported by one local team. Scroll to walk through a grocery and deli store the way we build it: the checkout, the cafe with its own register and boards, the back door, the data room, and the gate out back.

POS Systems · 5-step process

Concierge install, not ship-and-disappear.

Most dealers drop a box on your counter and vanish. RNROS programs every item by hand, sends a real technician, and answers the phone for the life of your business.

STEP 01

Free discovery & cost analysis

We pull your last three processing statements and show your exact savings, to the penny. If we can't beat your current setup on cost or service, we tell you straight.

  • Interchange-plus versus tiered pricing, explained in plain English
  • Free hardware programs and dual-pricing options with the fine print up front
  • Meals tax set up per state: Maine 8%, New Hampshire 8.5%, Massachusetts 6.25% plus local option
No pitch, no obligation
STEP 02

Hand-built item & menu programming

Every department, PLU, deli item, modifier and tax group is programmed by RNROS before the hardware ships. No templates, and no "you can add that later."

  • Departments, PLUs, deli modifiers, combos and age-restricted flags
  • Tax groups, bottle deposits, EBT, lottery and fuel prepay
  • Seasonal swaps ready for summer traffic and ski-season crowds
Programmed in Winthrop, ME
STEP 03

On-site install

A real technician sets up registers, scanners, pin pads, printers and the deli display at your checkout, then stays through your first rush.

  • Checkout lanes and the cafe register, scanner-scales, handhelds, pin pads, printers and cash drawers
  • Network staged and test transactions run before you open
  • Offline behavior explained for your platform, so a dropped connection is not a lost night
Real technician, on your floor
STEP 04

Staff training

Your cashiers ring real sales with us standing next to them, and the deli learns its tickets on your own items, not a demo.

  • Open and close, voids and refunds, age checks and lottery payouts
  • Cashier permissions, shift reports and settlement
  • Refresher sessions for new hires as your staff turns over
Live service walkthrough
STEP 05

Lifetime local support

One number, 24/7, staffed by real humans. No off-shore call center, no tier-one runaround. We pick up, we dispatch, we follow through.

  • Remote fix first, on-site dispatch from Winthrop when it needs hands
  • Preventive checkups and hardware swaps for the life of the system
  • Receipt paper, ribbons and custom gift cards from the same number

Security Systems · 5-step process

Cameras and alarms you can check from your phone.

Property assessment

We walk your property with you: entrances, registers, back doors, parking, and the blind spots you don't know you have.

  • Registers, deli counter, beer cave, safe, back door, dumpster and lot
  • Retention needs sized to your risk: 30, 60 or 90 days
  • Existing coax or cabling reused where it still makes sense
On-site walkthrough
STEP 02

Custom system design

Camera placement, night vision and weatherproof models, door and window sensors, and keypad or card access where you need it.

  • Lenses chosen for the distance you need to identify a face or a plate
  • Local NVR, cloud or hybrid recording, with the trade-offs in writing
  • Credential ladder: PIN, card or fob, mobile, biometric
NDAA Government Certified equipment
STEP 03

Installation

Cameras, recorder, cabling and alarm panel installed and tested by our technicians. One crew handles all of it, including the wiring.

  • Equipment programmed and bench-tested before install day
  • Cameras on their own network segment with current firmware
  • Dual-path alarm communication over cellular and internet
Structured cabling included
STEP 04

Remote monitoring & training

See every camera from your phone, tablet or computer and get motion alerts. We set it up on your devices and train your managers.

  • Person and vehicle alerts tuned to ignore headlights, shadows and trees
  • Managers see their site, owners see every site
  • Clip export for police reports and insurance claims
Motion alerts to your phone
STEP 05

Ongoing support

24/7 technical support and maintenance from the same team that installed it. Add cameras and doors as the business grows.

  • UL-listed central station monitoring available for alarms
  • Video verification and alarm partitioning to cut false-alarm fines
  • Access revoked instantly when an employee leaves
Scales with the business

Structured Cabling & Data Rooms · 7-step process

Cabling designed around the equipment it feeds.

Copper, fiber, racks, power and network hardware for restaurants, retail and commercial buildings. Because RNROS installs the POS, cameras and menu boards too, the cabling is built for what actually plugs into it.

STEP 01

Survey & design

We count every drop the building will need, walk the pathways, audit the existing closet, and hand you drawings and a fixed-price scope before anything is pulled.

  • Drops for registers, scales, the deli display, cameras, access points and the office
  • Cat6 or Cat6A, copper or fiber, decided by distance and speed, not habit
  • Rack elevation and cable schedule in the proposal
Drawings before drops
STEP 02

Pathways & cable pulls

J-hooks, cable tray and conduit are set first so cable is supported, separated from power, and easy to add to later.

  • Plenum or riser jackets matched to the ceiling and the code
  • Shielded runs where kitchen motors, hoods and coolers cause interference
  • Coordinated with your electrician and general contractor
Cat6A · plenum · riser
STEP 03

Termination & labeling

Every run is punched down to TIA-568 on patch panels and jacks, and labeled at both ends so nobody ever has to tone a cable again.

  • Labels to the TIA-606 scheme on panel, jack and cable
  • Fiber fusion-spliced and landed on LC panels
  • Faceplates and surface boxes that match the room
Labeled at both ends
STEP 04

Rack & data room build

A real MDF instead of a shelf in the office: rack or cabinet, patch panels, cable management, clean power and a grounding path.

  • Rack, patch panels, horizontal and vertical cable managers
  • UPS, PDU, dedicated circuit and ventilation check
  • Grounding busbar and rack bonding to TIA-607
MDF your next IT vendor will thank you for
STEP 05

Network hardware

Switches, firewall and Wi-Fi sized for what's on the network today and what you'll add, with the POS kept on its own segment.

  • PoE+ switches with the power budget for cameras, phones and access points
  • Firewall with PCI segmentation: POS, guest Wi-Fi and IoT kept apart
  • Wi-Fi 6/7 placed from a predictive heat map, validated on site
PoE budget planned
STEP 06

Testing & certification

Every copper link is certified on a Fluke tester and every fiber strand gets loss and OTDR results. You get the report, not a promise.

  • 100% of drops tested to TIA-568 permanent-link limits
  • Fiber: Tier-1 loss and Tier-2 OTDR traces
  • Failures fixed before handoff, not noted for later
PASS on every link
STEP 07

Documentation & service

Port map, as-built drawings, photos and test reports on handoff, then moves, adds and changes from the same team for the life of the building.

  • Closeout package: port map, as-builts, photos, warranty registration
  • Moves, adds and changes at fixed rates
  • Closet inspections and priority dispatch on a service plan

STEP 01

Site assessment

We measure the opening, clearance, slope and terrain, and watch how traffic actually moves through it before recommending anything.

  • Opening width, swing clearance, slide run-off room and grade
  • Power, conduit and loop-detector locations
  • Cycles per day, so the operator is rated for the traffic
Measured on site
STEP 02

Choose the gate

Swing for driveways with room to clear. Sliding where space is tight. Cantilever for rough terrain, with no ground track to freeze or clog.

  • UL 325 class matched to use, from single-family to restricted access
  • Cold-rated operators and heater kits for Maine winters
  • Frost-depth footings so posts stay plumb through freeze and thaw
Swing · Sliding · Cantilever
STEP 03

Operator install

Commercial-grade operator and hardware installed with photo-eyes and safety edges to the UL 325 entrapment-protection standard.

  • Two independent entrapment devices per direction: photo eyes and contact edges
  • ASTM F2200 guards, warning placards and controls kept clear of the gate
  • Battery backup and surge protection on every operator
UL 325 Certified installation
STEP 04

Access control

Keypads, intercoms, card readers and remotes, programmed so the right people get in and everyone else doesn't.

  • Keypad, telephone entry, card and fob, remotes and mobile credentials
  • Free-entry, free-exit and safety loops cut into the drive
  • Timed vendor codes with an activity log
Keypad · Intercom · Card · Remote
STEP 05

Camera & alarm integration

The gate ties into your CCTV and alarm system, so every entry is recorded and a forced entry triggers an alert.

  • Video intercom with remote release for deliveries
  • Knox box and siren-activated opening for fire and EMS
  • Gate events stamped onto the camera timeline
One system, one number
STEP 06

Maintenance & 24/7 support

Seasonal maintenance and round-the-clock support for the operator, safety devices and access control.

  • Spring and fall visits: lubrication, edge test, photo-eye alignment, rollers, fluid
  • Lock-open before plow storms and ice checks after them
  • We service gates other companies installed
Maine winters included
